2010 Measure C Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee
The next meeting of the 2010 Citizens Bond Oversight Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday March 16, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Board Room at Dent Education Center,
1936 Carlotta Drive, Concord
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District was successful at the election conducted on June 8, 2010, in obtaining authorization from the District’s voters to issue up to $348,000,000 general obligation bonds. The Measure ‘C’ bond measure passed with more than sixty-one (61) percent approval. On August 10, 2010 the Board of Education authorized the initial issuance and sale of $110,000,000 in General Obligation Bonds.
Because the June 8, 2010 Measure C election was conducted under Proposition 39 (Strict Accountability in Local School Construction Bonds Act of 2000, at Section 15264 et seq. of the Education Code) the District was then obligated to establish an Oversight Committee no later than sixty (60) days after the Board of Education reported the election results in its minutes.
Applications for and information regarding participation on the 2010 Measure C Citizens Oversight Committee were posted on the District’s website from June 14 through July 16, 2010. Additionally, members of the 2002 Measure C Oversight Committee were asked if they were interested in serving on the 2010 Measure C Oversight Committee. Staff reviewed all applications, interviewed the new applicants and recommended appointment of sixteen (16) applicants filling all requisite representation categories. On August 10, 2010 the Board of Education took action certifying the results of the June 8, 2010 election, approving a resolution appointing a General Obligation Bond Citizens Oversight Committee exclusively for Measure C and approving the appointment of the sixteen (16) applicants recommended by staff.
